Practice Car Park

Ever struggled to find a parking space at City Walls Medical Centre?

Being so close to the city centre we have a number of “rogue” parkers who walk into town, some are even parking here for a full day.

We want to be able to offer parking to our patients whilst they are using the Health Centre, and have looked at how other practices in the city are managing their car parks.

The Fountains Practices and Boughton Health Centre have successfully introduced a token system: for a small charge patients are able to use the car park whilst at the Health Centres. These are not money-making schemes! Any income generated by the token payments is put straight back into the practices to pay for additional clinicians to improve patient services.

Following patient feedback and after discussions with the CWMC Patient Participation Group, the practice has decided that it needs to introduce a similar token parking system.

The cost to park whilst accessing the practice will be £1 though disabled patients will be free of charge on the production of a valid disabled badge.

Over the next few weeks the necessary groundwork will start, this will take place over the weekends to avoid disruption to the patients and practice.

From the 1st October 2015, anybody wishing to park whilst visiting the Health Centre will need to purchase a token to exit the car park. These will be available either by using the machine on the wall by reception or by asking at reception.
